Once you have registered a domain name, you need a place where you can store all of your website's pages, pictures and files, this is called hosting. It is similar to a computer hard drive on the web, which stays online all of the time, and allows people to see your website at any time, even when your computer is turned off.

If you choose Volhost to host your site, we will direct the domain name you registered in step 1, making it your web address, people can type your domain name into their computer and be taken straight to your website.

We offer a range of hosting packages suitable for small organisations through to larger organisations. Our packages are determined by the number of people you expect to visit your site at any one time, and the size of the files, pictures or pages on your website. Don't worry if you choose the wrong package, our support team will advise you on the most suitable package once your site is hosted and we can assess how many people are visiting each month, you can always upgrade or downgrade your hosting package with no additionally charges.

We recommend that you start off with our very basic package, unless you know that you will get lots of people visiting your website, however here is a guide to all of our packages:

All of our packages come with a range of tools which allow you to put your site on the web, and include items which allow you to create chat rooms, message boards, clocks and counters on your website, along with a great control panel which allows you to manage your own site, allowing you to change your username and password, or submit your site to the search engines.
